The team works hard every day – Ibrahim Konè

After a disappointing 0-0 draw against Floriana, this Sunday, we will face another tough opponent which are Gżira United. HFC Media took the comments of Guinean goalkeeper Ibrahim Konè before this important match.

Ibrahim was asked what went wrong in the Floriana match and he replied: “Not much. We were just a little worse than the previous matches, it happens to all the teams in a football season.”

“As far as the team is concerned, we had a feeling of shared joy and disappointment, joy because we were able to stay solid so as not to lose this match and a bit of disappointment because we mismanaged one or two situations that could save us,” he said.

“But the most important is the solidity that the whole team has shown.”

The second round of the BOV Premier League starts this weekend, where we face Gżira United in what should be another entertaining match at the National Stadium.

“Of course Gżira are a very good team, but all the teams in this championship are playing their luck to the full and there is no team to neglect,” the 32 year old goalkeeper said.

Ibrahim was then asked about the team’s positive run during this season and whether it can continue or not.

“Yes of course. I think that we can continue our positive journey, because we give ourselves the means every day in training, all of us work hard every day and we are all committed 200%. We have to work hard and trust our qualities.”

“I keep the same preparation as the previous matches, involvement and focus in all training sessions to be ready on matchday,” he said when asked about how he is preparing for this next match.

To end the interview with our goalkeeper, we took a usual message for our fans.

“First of all, I want to thank our fans on behalf of the whole team for their daily support. We will need them even more in the coming matches and if we all come together with the same goal in mind, god willing, we could do something great this season. Thank you all again. FORZA HIBS.”
