Shola Shodiya puts pen to paper on a contract with Hibernians FC
29 year old Nigerian striker Shola Haruna Shodiya has become the lastest addition to Stefan Sanderra’s squad for the coming season. Shola is no new comer to Maltese football having played on the island since joining Birkirkara FC in 2011, later joining Sliema Wanderers.
During his spell at Birkirkara, Shola became one of the most lethal strikers in Maltese football, feared by every defender for his speed and ability to beat his marker in one against one situations.
The player , who in recent years had gone off the radar, joined Hibernians FC for preseason training through the intervention of Ndubisi Chukunyere, and having participated in all three friendlies played so far, has left a very good impression on the Italian coach, who eagerly decided to sign the striker.
With his speed , agility and scoring abilities, the 1.87m Nigerian will add depth to Sanderra’s already lethal looking forward line.
