Hibernians beat FC Vaduz to go through to the next round

In the Rheinpark Stadium of Vaduz, Liechtenstein, Hibernians FC qualified for the 2nd Qualifying Round of the UEFA Europa League by beating FC Vaduz 0-2.

 

Hibernians opened the score in the 34th minute when from a corner taken by Ayrton Attard, the ball was cleared and fell to Jurgen Degabriele’s feet who with a deflected shot opened the score for the Paolites. The first half ended 0-1 for Hibernians.

 

Hibernians secured the victory with a goal in the 56th minute when Jurgen Degabriele skipped past the Vaduz goalkeeper and finished in an empty net to make the score 0-2 for the Black and Whites. A few minutes later, Hibernians were down to 10-men as captain Bjorn Kristensen was shown his second yellow card.

 

Vaduz tried to make the score level in the final minutes of the game but the biggest chance was once again for Hibernians as 3 minutes from time, new signing Rundell Winchester hit the post from close range.
