Heavy investment in upgrading of Hibernians Football Stadium playing surface

This morning the Hibernians Stadium woke up bustling with activity, as works on the resurfacing of the pitch began with the break of dawn.

The Stadium pitch was converted to Natural Turf when it was handed over to Hibernians F.C. in 1986 by the then Sports Minister, the late Hon. Lorry Sant, ever since the stadium has become home to Hibernians F.C.

After months of planning, now a heavy investment will see the pitch and training ground surfaces upgraded to Hybrid Natural Turf. The new surfaces, while having a positive environmental impact, will aid to step up the intensity of the game.  This innovative hybrid grass system which combines the best of natural grass and synthetic turf also offers increased pitch stability, making it safer for the players.
